Why is my recording behind the accompaniment?
In some situations, such as when you use a Bluetooth speaker or headset, when you record your performance, the accompaniment audio arrives late to the speakers. This is because of the inherent latency of your audio device. Metronaut uses sophisticated algorithms to detect, fix and compensate this latency in your recordings.
But sometimes this compensation goes wrong. This can happen all the time if you use Bluetooth Headsets (such as AirPods, etc) where our algorithms are unable to detect the latency for a fix.
As a result, when you playback the recording your solo part is heard before the accompaniment and thus not synchronized.
How can I fix it?
Starting version 6.10.0 of Metronaut you can adjust this latency manually if needed and your choice will be saved with the recording:
- Open the recording: This will open the recording on the same music sheet you performed it with a player on the bottom of the screen.
- Open the Latency setting: Tap on the options button and then choose Latency (see screenshot below)
- Adjust Latency: Play the recording and use the +/- button until you are satisfied.
- Your adjustment will be saved: quitting the recording will save your adjustment and next time you open the recording it should be fine.
