Yes!
By default, Metronaut assumes that you prefer a tuning of 440 Hz (for middle-A pitch) which is true for most users but you might want to change this in some cases (see some scenarios below).
To do this, open the Settings menu on any sheet music (see screenshots below) and tap on Tuner. On the Tuner screen, you will be able to change the Tuning Reference. Changing the tuning reference will also change the accompaniment audio so that it sound in-tune with your instrument. Your choice will be remembered on the copy of Metronaut on your device.
On iPhone, iPad and Mac versions of Antescofo, you will be also able to tune your instrument. Just start playing a middle-A and the detailed tuning will be displayed.
When should change the tuning reference on Metronaut?
Here are some scenarios where you would want to change the tuning on Metronaut:
- You are a Pianist and your Piano is tuned differently than 440Hz: Some Pianos are tuned using 442Hz or 444Hz reference. The best way to check this is to play a middle-A in the tuner tool and check its value.
- You prefer tuning your instrument on a different reference than 440Hz: For example some Baroque music players prefer going down as low as 415Hz. If you are in that group, you are all covered by Metronaut!
