If Tempo AI is not following your tempo, check the selected mode and whether Metronaut can hear your playing clearly.
Tempo AI adapts the accompaniment tempo to your performance in the iOS, Android and Mac apps. It is not available on Web. Older instructions may refer to tempo following as Smart Mode, Magic Mode or an intelligent mode.
1. Make sure Tempo AI is selected
Open Tempo in the score toolbar and select Tempo AI under Metronaut’s reaction. Fixed does not adapt to your playing, and Wait has no accompaniment.
2. Check your microphone or MIDI input
If Metronaut does not detect your playing at all, start with microphone and MIDI troubleshooting. If you use a MIDI instrument, make sure it remains connected.
3. Help the microphone hear your instrument
If you use a microphone, the accompaniment may be masking your instrument. Try reducing playback volume, or using headphones or external speakers to help Metronaut hear your part more clearly. See speaker and headphone settings.
Is the sound late rather than the tempo wrong?
If the cursor and audio are out of sync, the issue may be audio latency rather than tempo following. Use the cursor and audio synchronization guide.
The problem continues
Contact support with your device, piece title, microphone or MIDI setup, audio output, and the passage where following fails.
