The Piano Bar adds a visual keyboard to the Performance screen when your selected instrument is Piano. It helps you connect the notes in the score with their positions on a piano keyboard.
What does the Piano Bar show?
As you follow the score, the Piano Bar:
- Highlights the notes at the current cursor position.
- Displays note names above the highlighted keys.
- Uses the correct sharp or flat spelling for the score—for example, G♯ or A♭.
- Marks middle C (C4) with a black dot.
- Automatically adjusts its range to the notes used in the score.
The Piano Bar is visual guidance only: its keys cannot be played by tapping them.
Show or hide the Piano Bar during a performance
Tap the Piano Bar to hide it. A minimized keyboard button remains available in the toolbar so you can bring it back at any time.
If the entire toolbar is minimized, first tap the up arrow, then tap the keyboard button to restore the Piano Bar.
Change the Piano Bar setting
You can control whether the Piano Bar is displayed from either location:
- Open Display Settings from the Performance screen and change Display Keyboard.
- Open your Account Settings and change Display Keyboard.
Your preference is saved and applied to future performances.
Why don’t I see the Piano Bar setting?
The Piano Bar and its Display Keyboard setting are available when Piano is selected as your instrument. If you use another instrument, they will not appear.
To use the feature, select Piano as your instrument and return to the Performance screen.
Can I customize the keys, colors, or keyboard range?
No additional setup is needed. Metronaut automatically chooses the keyboard range, highlights the relevant keys, and displays note names according to the score. These visual details cannot currently be customized individually.
