Wait mode in Metronaut moves the score cursor along with your playing, without accompaniment, so you can practice at your own pace. You can use it for sight reading focusing on Pitch and leaving rhythm out.
Turn on Wait mode
- Open a piece and tap or click Tempo in the score toolbar.
- Under Metronaut’s reaction, select Wait.
- Turn AI Feedback on if you want visual feedback and scoring/XP.
- Close the panel, press Play, and play your part.
Why is there no accompaniment in Wait mode?
Wait is designed for practicing without accompaniment. The cursor moves with your playing as you work through the score. If you want to play along with an accompaniment, select Fixed, or use Tempo AI in the iOS, Android or Mac app. The piece must have an accompaniment available.
Can I earn XP in Wait mode?
Yes. Turn on AI Feedback to enable visual feedback and scoring/XP in Wait. The same switch works with Fixed and Tempo AI.
Why is the cursor not moving with my playing?
Metronaut needs to receive your playing through a microphone or connected MIDI instrument. Check your input connection and permissions using the guide to detecting your playing.
